Hy,

when upgrading from debian-stable to a new version:
Is a dist-upgrade with the KXStudio repository secure?

Code: Select all

apt-cache clean && apt-get update && apt-get -y upgrade && apt-get -y dist-upgrade && apt-get -y autoremove && apt-get -f -y install

https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?p=96523#p96523

cheers,
khz

dist-upgrade is safe, and the option you should use by default anyway as some updates push new packages to install.

but dont use autoremove blindly, specially with a "-y" that will skip user input and just remove stuff.

cache clean and -f install are also not needed
dont overcomplicate things where there is no need for.
thanks
