What do you all do to lock your systems down?
KXStudio seems designed for ease of use, which leaves me concerned about security. Does SELinux add that much for a regular user?
Just wondering because I use this machine for everything else too.
thanks!

Re: Security
BTW, I am also interested in the "no root user" setup. I've returned to Linux after several years and this is new to me. What advantages does it offer?
Thanks again!

Re: Security
I personally think that "no root user + regular user with sudo" is one of the most horrible design decisions ever. I use different passwords for regular user and root user. Regular password is optimized for fast typing while root password is optimized for security. In this case if my regular password will get compromised, I can easily change it and not lose the whole system. With sudo you are extremely vulnerable.

Re: Security
You can also use KXStudio repositories with a distribution you consider secure (Debian).
I don't know enough about the KXStudio distribution itself, but I would be quite surprise if it is not secure.
Also, FWIW (probably not much, really), I second Lyberta's comments on "no root + sudo".
