Re: Package updates in the KXStudio repositories
wtf? embeddable qt5 what? is that something brewing stinky/fishy on the SUIL front? one that probably goes blindly incorporated in ardour5.8+git without any kind of appeal?falkTX wrote:a few more today:
drumkv1, samplv1 and synthv1 updated to 0.8.2.
these no longer include the embeddable qt5 ui in gcc5 builds, as it caused issues in ardour.
external ui still works though.
good stuff (with a sarcastic *grin* i must :/)
enjoy yours

Re: Package updates in the KXStudio repositories
no kidding ?falkTX wrote:the external ui still works fine.
problem is, when dealing for instance under yours truly qtractor (any recent version), the vee-ones will miss some amenities (for which some of its users might get grumpy, i expect): the plugin's external-ui window positioning won't get remembered across sessions, most surely re-appearing in who-knows-where some evil-WM-in-charge dictates.
thanks. much appreciatedfalkTX wrote:also btw, qtractor updated to 0.8.2 just now
nevertheless.

Thanks from me as well - got it already on both my home machine (Debian Jessie) as well as on my notebook at work (Ubuntu 16.04).falkTX wrote:Ardour updated to 5.9

Re: Package updates in the KXStudio repositories
on Arch, what are the install instructions for shiro plugin.falkTX wrote:New packages now in the repository:
- gxplugins, see https://github.com/brummer10/GxPlugins.lv2
- freaked-plugins, see https://github.com/pjotrompet/Freaked
- shiro-plugins, see https://github.com/ninodewit/SHIRO-Plugins
tip: do yourself a favour and try the shiroverb plugin
(small issue in shiro-plugins, fixing...)
also some small things for 16.04 users.
I applied the "aloop never default soundcard" and "pulseaudio recommends pulseaudio-module-jack" changes that were present in 14.04.
dpf-plugins updated per latest release, but you already had a recent enough version before anyway.
'make' failed.

Re: Package updates in the KXStudio repositories
None of the SHIRO plugins work for me in ardour 5.9 on KDE Neon.
[ERROR]: LV2: Failed to instantiate plugin https://github.com/ninodewit/SHIRO-Plug ... ns/modulay
[ERROR]: LV2: Failed to instantiate plugin https://github.com/ninodewit/SHIRO-Plug ... /pitchotto
[ERROR]: LV2: Failed to instantiate plugin https://github.com/ninodewit/SHIRO-Plug ... ins/larynx
[ERROR]: LV2: Failed to instantiate plugin https://github.com/ninodewit/SHIRO-Plug ... s/harmless
It doesn't even list shiroverb.

Re: Package updates in the KXStudio repositories
That does work, from the output I realised I had forgot to remove the self build version I had in ~/.lv2. Now it shows up in ardour and opens, along with the others. Thanks for the hint and the updates.falkTX wrote:get the updates again, see if this works:Code: Select all

Re: Package updates in the KXStudio repositories
Sorry for the off-topic but would you recommend wine-rt over wine-staging in the context of windows VSTs?falkTX wrote:wine-rt updated to 2.0.1, should be installable on 16.10 and 17.04 now.

Btw, any chance of adding the SimpleScreenRecorder and/or the oscilloscope that Unfa used in his videos, Baudline ?
