Hi there, I downloaded and installed the KXS 64-bit distro onto a spare 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo PC a couple of days ago - congrats to the devs; of the multiple music centric distros I've installed in over 15 years using Linux, KXS is easily the only one that gets close to being the perfect distro for me as a musician. Kudos.
There are a few minor issues I'd like to see if I could remedy, and if I can do that it *will* be perfect!
1. Some apps don't connect to the default audio output pair on start. Apps like LMMS seem to automatically connect to the default audio output pair, but quite a few others do not - I have to manually do that via Catia. Can the audio output be connected by default on all apps? I'm not going to output audio via anything other than the attached Behringer UCA202 USB audio interface, so it would be useful to not need to connect audio out manually.
2. Bristol doesn't seem to produce any sound - I've connected the app via Catia to system output and to an attached USB MIDI keyboard, and it responds to the connected keyboard and to its onscreen keyboard (the onscreen keyboard keys depress), but no audio output seems present. Is there something I'm missing to get audio out of Bristol?
So far they're the only minor things I'd like to fix - so all in all KXS has thoroughly impressed me.
Regards,
Chris W, New Zealand.
