i messed up

Post by mrthraz »

I'm having an issue and I was hoping someone here could help me figure it out.

I read on winehq that flstudio12's new internal asio bridge worked well and seemed to work better than wineasio so I wanted to try it. it did but....

I found it wasn't registered when I tried to use it. so I opened terminal and ran

Code: Select all

"wine regsvr32.exe /S ILWASAPI2ASIO.DLL".
in my flstudio prefix.

that was a script in fl's asio directory.

Now wineasio will open but dosn't route any audio.

I’m on ubuntustudio 15.04 64 and unity, with the KXstudio repos installed on a 16-core opteron workstation with 24gigs of ram.

I’m using a Roland SP-606 as my audio interface. anyone have any ideas how I might undo this.

after reading the forums here I believe my issue might be linked to the
32 bit wineasio regression on 64 bit systems.

so I may have not have messed up! :) . I just probably didn't check to see if fl was
working with wine before registering it's internal bridge.

my own fault for not frequenting the forums.

I keep an all 32 bit system for wine vst, and 64 bit setups for mixed use.
I think it will be a while before 64 and 32 bit will blend seemlessly.

Bodhi and WattOS are good small ubuntu based distros, that can use
the KX repos. You can put one on an external usb hard drive,
while you master and perfect the 64 bit setup, and the code bumps
are smoothed over
Cheers

falkTX wrote:to register the 64bit wineasio you need to run this:

Code: Select all

wine64 regsvr32 wineasio.dll
(note the first 'wine64')

Also if you really need the 32bit for some reason you can run its vst plugin version in airwave or carla.
I did register the 64 bit wineasio so.

so i'm kind of stuck there.

airwave?

not sure what you mean, this is my daw:

16-core opteron workstation with 24gigs of ram.

Roland SP-606 as my audio interface
I installed ubuntustudio 15.04 64bit on a spare drive 'cause my install
of 12.04 was getting full and behaving badly.

I then went here http://kxstudio.linuxaudio.org/Repositories

and did this

Code: Select all

# Install required dependencies if needed
sudo apt-get install apt-transport-https software-properties-common wget

# Download package file
wget https://launchpad.net/~kxstudio-debian/+archive/kxstudio/+files/kxstudio-repos_9.2.1~kxstudio1_all.deb

# Install it
sudo dpkg -i kxstudio-repos_9.2.1~kxstudio1_all.deb

or maybe I installed the deb. it's been a month or so. but i thought that was the correct procedure.

after that I installed all the different kxstudio parts through synaptic.
