carla-vst issue with Tracktion

I played with Tracktion 6 a few weeks ago, and had used carla-rack with it. Since then I have done a bit of distro-hopping, and then playing with Ardour4. I know that over that time, carla-git has been updated a number of times. Yesterday I installed the latest Tracktion (6.1 I think) and installed carla-vst (I had been using carla-LV2 in Ardour and Qtractor). Carla-rack or patchbay will open, buttons will highlight, but nothing happens when they are pressed. So I can't add a plugin. The vst works just fine in Qtractor, so it is definitley an issue specific to Traction. Any ideas?

Hi, I installed Tracktion T7 and the latest Carla release (2.0 beta5). I am having the same issue above where Carla loads in Tracktion but freezes. The packages I have installed are:
carla-git
carla-lv2
carla-vst
carla-data
Should I be installing any other packages to get Carla working in T7?

I was hoping to use Carla in Tracktion T7, to access non-Tracktion plugins. I didn't install the bridges because I wasn't planning to use any Windows plugins. Possibly I could try that.

I use KDE Neon with KXstudio repos and T7 works flawless with Carla-Racks.
