Carla and MIDI Omni question

Hello all,

First post here so...
First of all thanks for this great board and useful source of information and to all the wonderful developers creating awesome software for Linux.

I have a Carla question which relates to how it receives on MIDI channels. Thus far I've been unable to find a way to prevent a plugin (for example using Fluid soundfonts) from listening on all midi channels, ie, I couldn't find a way to MIDI mute channels I didn't want to be able to receive on when a plugin is loaded in the Carla rack? The same issue applies to other plugins for example OBXd or whatever.

Many instrument plugins won't necessarily allow you to set the MIDI channels so the only way I can think of to handle this would be via the host such as Carla.

The idea would be to prevent MIDI transmissions destined for a particular plugin / instrument / device (on MIDI Channel 1 for example) from being picked up by all the others in a Carla multiple instrument / effects rack.

I'm sure I'm missing some obvious trick or method how to achieve this, does anybody perhaps know how it's done?

Yes having MIDI filtering options per device (especially channel filtering in this particular case) would be awesome!

I've been trying to use seq24 with synths in carla, and found this feature badly missing.
I tried the midisplit internal plugin, but it adds some jitter in the midi events timing, making it not usable for this purpose.

So I'm very happy to read it's already in the plans, looking forward to it!
