last Friday I've downloaded and installed KXStudio 12.04.1 Live-DVD 64bit on my PC.
Motherboard: ASUS M4A77T
Processor: 4x AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Processor
Memory: 4GB DDR3 1800
Graphic adapter : GeForce 210/PCIe/SSE2/3DNOW!
Hard Disk 1 : CORSAIR SSD SATA 3 120 GB
DVD writer: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-109
CD writer : PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W4824A
Sound Card: ECHO Mia MIDI
USB-MIDI Adapter : M-AUDIO Midisport 2x2 Anniversary Edition
The sound card built into the motherboard has been disabled by bios
It seems that the whole installation process is completed without errors but when I've tried to listen some mp3 or to test the audio Playback from the Sound and Video Configuration of Phonon I can not hear anything through the headphones.
I checked the volume control that outputs were enabled and I activated mia echomixer . I see the signal on the VU-meters when I play something but I can not hear anything from the output of the sound card Echo Mia MIDI.
If I boot the version of Ubuntu that is installed on another drive that I have used up to now, the audio works properly, so I would say that from the hardware point of view there is no problem.

I'm a newbie and probably I do not notice something that would be trivial
I think that for a musical usage of my PC to hear something from the headphones is something crucial .
