Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
Falk,
if you get a chance, you might want to put up a different git version of amSynth, since the one you posted has problems with polyphonic portamento. Maybe the release just before the current one?

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
Caffeine would be nice to include in KXStudio:
https://launchpad.net/caffeine
Note: the PPA has a bad packaging because it is missing these dependents: gir1.2-appindicator3-0.1 and gir1.2-notify-0.7
Anyway, Caffeine can automatically stop system suspension while running things like arecord or a DAW or effect or other things. Very useful for audio, and allows people to otherwise keep very frugal and efficient energy saver settings
And, not necessary, but there's one little KDE glitch: it showed two icons in my panel but one was nothing. When I hid that in the panel settings, I saw just one and that's useful. I think one is actually supposed to be the shadow of the other actually. And it is supposed to work with just left-click, and instead, I can only turn it on and off with right-click menu. But whatever. Mostly the automatic on for specified programs is the point, because otherwise it works to just click the battery and turn off the power settings.

Hi Falk,
do you think it's possible to add ardour2 and 3 with vst support to the repositories?
many thanks

Ok, this one goes without saying.
Ardour 3.0.0
I tried to download it from ardour.org but for some reason the paypal link isn't working for me.

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
I've spent the last few weeks trying various internet DJ apps (mostly web based) for Linux and it seems the only one thats currently usable, for our purposes at least, is IDJC. I expect I'll be writing up a guide to using it under KX Studio after we've trialled it for a while longer and I have a decent track scheduling system sorted.
0.8.7 is in the Precise repos but latest is 0.8.8. Could you please consider adding an updated package to your repo F?
Thanks!

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
Thanks & good luck with A3 - its only right you should want to get the long awaited A3 FINAL (woohoo!) packaged!falkTX wrote:Added to the TODO list.danboid wrote:0.8.7 is in the Precise repos but latest is 0.8.8. Could you please consider adding an updated package to your repo F?
I'll look into it some time later (really trying to get ardour3 to build here, damn wii joysticks...)
Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
For Ardour 3 it would be fine, because there are some nice vst instruments and plugins.falkTX wrote:It's possible, but I would prefer not to.chbu wrote:do you think it's possible to add ardour2 and 3 with vst support to the repositories?
It generates a whole new set of bugs (and expectations).
But my biggest issue with it is that it's 32bit only.
Some of its dependencies are not multi-arch ready, so it won't work for 64bit systems in any way.
But, well, is there a very good reason to package it?
Of course I can use Vestige or Carla, but the setup would be more simply if I can load the plugins direct in ardour3.
Maybe your are right if you think it could generates a whole new set of bugs.
thanks

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
One small addition...
I see there is a new version of Triceratops out. I tried opening it in Carla the other day and it told me it wasn't installed!

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
Nick seems sure it's fixed; however the git version doesn't appear to be updated... might need to check again..falkTX wrote:Heh, I won't be able to finish the Cadence tools like this...
@brian:
I'll add those 2 to the TODO list (see 1st post) and will do them later.
Now, are you 100% sure the amsynth bug is fixed..?
as for the bug, I won't know till I give it a testrun..
And, the new Triceratops version can now save patches! Yeah!
Thanks falkTX!

Please include if able latest qxgedit (0.1.1-3) for yamaha hardware users as it is the only program available in linux, apart from using XG editors through wine.
