Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
Ok; now I understand the conflict. Yes, it sounds like a lot of work. --It would be nice if a person could have whatever versions of Csound on their machine that they want, without one conflicting with another. That would be up to the Csound developers to do though, I imagine..
At any rate, it's not something I personally need at this very moment, as I'll be without a computer for a few days.
It would be nice to be able to use Csound in realtime without the distortion problem though.

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
HI guys! I thought I'd request an update for Mixxx as the current one in the repos for a fresh 14.04 install is still 1.10.1, which is nearly 3 years old:
http://mixxxblog.blogspot.com.au/2012/0 ... eased.html
The source code for 1.11.0 is there: http://mixxx.org/download/
I am currently using 1.11.0 from their PPA and it works fine so far.
By the way, they are currently working hard on 1.12.0 and there isn't any bugfix version planned for the 1.11 branch, which might mean that 1.11.0 is solid enough.
Cheers!

falkTX, I would like to install OpenOctave, but is not available for 14.04. I might be asking a stupid question, but can I install it by just adding this PPA?

I use Firefox for video chatting, it works well, and I don't believe it requires pulseaudio.falkTX wrote: (damn skype forced me to install pulseaudio again...)

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
Hey FalkTX, could we please get Clementine 1.2.3 in KXS 14.04 ? It fixed a very annoying search issue for me (library search does not work and makes Clementine freeze) that is in the KXstudio stock 1.2.0 version. And I bet there are quite a few other bug fixes in three bugfix releases.
Here is the changelog between 1.2.0 and 1.2.3 (I highlighted the fix for the issue I described):
Version 1.2.3:
Bugfixes:
* Fix compilation with GCC 4.9.
* (Linux) Fix poor search performance with sqlite 3.8.
* (Ubuntu) Fix dependency issues on Ubuntu 14.04.
* (Windows) Upgrade to OpenSSL 1.0.1g to fix CVE-2014-0160.
Version 1.2.2:
Major features:
* (Android Remote) Add kittens support.
Bugfixes:
* Rename SkyDrive to OneDrive.
* Don't include the user's IP address in the log (from the network remote
settings dialog).
* (Debian) Fix a bug with HTTPS logins to all cloud storage providers.
* (Mac OS X) Fix a bug in the workaround for a weird font issue on 10.9.
* (Mac OS X) Fix rendering of source icons on retina displays.
* (Android Remote) Don't advertise songs that aren't available.
* (Android Remote) Fix playing songs with special characters in filenames.
Version 1.2.1:
Bugfixes:
* Fix library download in the network remote.
* Fix removing songs from playlist in the network remote.
* Fix login failures with box.com.
* (Mac OS X) Add a workaround for a weird font issue on 10.9.
* (Linux) Fix a typo that would prevent the Spotify downloader button from
ever being shown.

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
Oh, I didn't realise. Is that a bad thing to do? There is a stable ppa: https://launchpad.net/~me-davidsansome/ ... clementine

package deb is available on pagefalkTX wrote:
no
EDIT: I have no issues with users trying that out, and me fixing things in kxstudio that might cause it to break.
But I won't package it. Not when the developer asked me NOT to do it.
+1 falk
