2 usb interfaces at once?

Post by Alwaysanewb »

I heard there is a way to do this. I have to of the same usb interfaces They both show up in cadence but no way to select them both at once I'm usung ubuntu 12.04 64bit. What I am basically trying to do is use the ins and outs of both intercaces so I have 4 ins and outs. Is this even possuble? If so how would I go about doing it?

I'm trying to read up on the alsa in out method it seems you edit a file or add a file somewhere and it's not really that descroptive on which file or what file to add ect. I don't know a bunch about the nuts and bolts of these things. It's not that big of a deal I just like how these sound card sound and there cheap. I would like more than 4 outpuits anyway so I'll probably buck up and buy an m audio delta 1010 but don't want to be throwing away good money after bad if I have too. I dont know if i'll like toe sound of them or not and if it will be difficult to set up or not.

I've heard of a guy making the asoundrc file like this:

...To combine two cheap consumer cards into a multi-IO card, and it worked with jack... not sure if this is what you need?

I have managed to get an internal soundcard & a USB one running together, I don't know if the method will work for you, see:
