USB tethering is where the tablet or phone acts as a USB ethernet device to the computer, providing network access and acting like the router for the computer. I'm not sure if that would work either but I thought it might be worth a try.

I notice that the computer is x.x.1.x and the tablet is x.x.3.x. which puts them on different subnets. I'm guessing then that the computer is using ethernet instead of wifi. One thing to try if possible would be to get a usb wifi card or something so they are on the same subnet. Another to try is sending the OSC from the computer to the tablet using oscsend.

I'm just trying to come up with ideas. I haven't experienced this before and I'm not really a networking expert.

Yes, the computer is on Ethernet, but it has a Wifi card. I tried connecting the computer and the tablet to another router over Wifi, and it still didn't work.

I would like to try sending OSC from the computer to the tablet, but how is the tablet supposed to receive it? I don't suppose I can install osc2midi on Android.

You didn't say anything about making the JACK connections. When I use TouchDaw and Ardour I refer to this page to remind me on how to set it up.

Well, right now we're having trouble with the OSC part which is completely independent of jack.

You should be able to send a value to control or ardroid and move a slider or knob or toggle a button or whatever from the computer. So you'll have to make sure you format the message properly for the widget.

Some newer wifi routers block igmp between the wired and wifi networks. In particular the verizon/frontier actiontec(s).

http://superuser.com/questions/730288/w ... o-wireless
https://forums.verizon.com/t5/Fios-Inte ... d-p/461359

At one point there was a deep (unreachable unless you knew the URL) admin screen to set this on or off but they have totally eliminated that

I had TouchDAW going fine until a verizon upgrade where it was very difficult to discover the issue.

In my case I've gone to using an older netgear wifi router that I just use for the studio setup.

YMMV

Hi

Back to the original topic. I tried to connect TouchDAW to Ardour (currently Ardour 4), following the instructions of the first couple of mails. But the issues that were mentioned about feedback seem to persist on my setup. I get no feedback whatsoever to TouchDAW. I link qmidinet in and out of Ardour, I enable feedback from the Ardour Mackie properties, but... nothing. Also, the feedback setting refuses to get saved in the Ardour file. Any suggestions?
