some gx_head presets

Post by StudioDave »

Greetings,

A long time ago I promised brummer that I'd create some presets for Guitarix. I did so, only to erase the set during a system upgrade, and I never got around to recreating the set. However, I spent some time yesterday and today making some presets for gx_head. They're located here:

http://linux-sound.org/misc/dlp_ae_rc.gz

They're a little unusual for gx_head. They were created with an inexpensive Ibanez electroacoustic - at its flat settings - so the presets have no distortion or overdrive stages. I don't know if they'll be of use for anyone else, but I offer them as starting points for further experiments.

Sorry for the long delay, brummer, but I finally completed a set. :)

Best,

dp

Thanks for checking them. As I remarked, they were all created for an electroacoustic, not the typical guitar expected by gx_head I think. I concentrated on clean tones with minimal effects, for my purposes the presets turned out okay. :)

The presets are of course available to anyone who wants them.

Anyone know of other presets available for Guitarix/gx_head ?

And btw, are the presets usable in Guitarix too or only in gx_head ?

Hi

Many thanks for the presets, so I could include a factory set "StudioDave" now. :)

Presets made with/for gx_head wouldn't work in guitarix, that's one of the reasons why we change the name for the app.
The format is the same, and they are "loadable" in guitarix, but with undefined results.

I'm have to much work those day's and can't work on gx_head at time, but I would be happy to include more factory settings next when I found the time.

I have check your presets now, well, nice sounds :)
I note that you have done them with ver. 0.13.0, so I would let you know, that we have done in the meantime various improvements special for clean sounds, that's a reworked drive controller, clean tubes stages, a new reamp, and a new 3band EQ witch include a shaper (based on a compressor algo).
I'm preety sure you will love them, when I look at your presets. :D
