Hi,
Debian and Ubuntu multimedia teams for packaging use git
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianMultimedia
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianMultimedia ... pPackaging
It would be useful if people who package for Ubuntu PPA (like falktx and autostatic on this forum board for example), would also use git for there packages sources, on places like github or glitorious for example.
It would even be better imo if people would join the Debian multimedia team and then backport the packages you package for Debian to your Ubuntu PPA's.
Use git for Debian | Ubuntu | PPA packaging

The Ubuntu en Debian packages should be quite similar, so keeping them in easily-synced source repo's (or even branches of the same repo) seems to make sense.studio32 wrote:It would even be better imo if people would join the Debian multimedia team and then backport the packages you package for Debian to your Ubuntu PPA's.
I wonder if it'd be useful to have a place to publish Debian packages that (for whatever reason) are not suitable for Debian yet - I once set up an apt repo for linuxmusicians, but that never caught on. Perhaps we should revive that a bit.
