no, the sequence is :
compresor,preamp, ingain,distortion,effects,outgain.
therefor you have a gainsetting in the distortion effect, it's like a little inbuild amp behind the disstortion.
the preamp is a wavesharper for now, yes I will build it as a tube, there is so mutch to do, so less time . . .

@jochen here is a setting I use for a distorted rythem guitar

Code: Select all

-0.27 0.7 -7.4 1 -2.6 0.24 0.12 6270 130 1 7682.5 200 1 0 1 6.725 1 0.62 0.12 0 0 0 0.3 0.725 1 -3.55 210 33.3 1 20 2200 5.2 0 0.62 0 0 1 1 0 1 0 0 0 0 2000 64 5 0 9 0 64 9 -1 1 104 1 45.75 0.05 20 64 4 1 108 2 1 6 0 99 64 64 0 1 1 -46.2 0.333 8.88 1.5 19.2 0 1 0 0
when you replace ~./guitarix/guitarixrc with that sequence guitarix will start with that settings, if you like it, save it as preset then.

I don't know how it's done on debian or rpm distros that's one of the reasons I don't like the popular distros... too complicated when apps are not make for them.
I use ArchLinux. I edited the Makefile to point to /usr/bin
ran make, then sudo make install.

here's link for 64studio.... I think it's Deb based.

for Suse and I guess other rpm based distros:

Hermann, I finally had the chance to try your latest code (svn@69).

It works amazingly good :D

I have not tried the MIDI stuff since I don't have any MIDI foot pedal.
The jconv widget does wonder, so convenient!

I happen to try all that at very low lat with the latest jack1 and kernel 2.6.29-rt1. It's just super stable! Thanks for the effort put into this. Looking forward to the next development phase. You can easily fork out to different kinds of project from where you are now :)

so kernel 2.6.29-rt1 is super stable. Sweet, just compiled it. you said that guitarix is at svn 69, will try that too.

Thank's thorgal, nice to hear that. :)

when you like the oscilloscope, you will love the new one. I have add 3 different modes, to make your wave's visuable, and have reduced the CPU request for it. Here is a snapshot:

I have also improved the error and signal handler, to make sure that guitarix make clean when it shot down .

nice, bookmarked :D , yea I have also both links from KVR , :D

The Acousticas be more reverbs, they be real loud, I like some of the 05_Rooms (studio line) and some of the 03_Ambience files. All files have a high quality level.
