Often for simplicity's sake, it's almost always been down to Robin Gareus' convoLV2 with one or two of tramp's GxPlugins.lv2 of some kind/somewhere thrown in the line up.

https://github.com/brummer10/GxPlugins.lv2 You can also load up a folder/directory/dossier with your fav IRs, select and save them as presets in the plugin.

Also to help that bass guitar cut through the mix, I put either one of those terrors on the bass guitar track. Especially if you're doing modern metal.
