Thanks @nyxeles - Just been checking out your soundcloud page.
I swear I hadn't heard your LMC13, Hidden Garden, piece before (!) - but I think those piano parts just beg to be used as they are! Love them with @MyLoFy 's beats.

BTW, I love your Serious Robots Business - brilliant!

Hey constants,
here is some additional feedback:
@nyxeles Beautifully interwoven melodies and harmonies. I like the voicings of piano chords, but my favorite is the rhythm guitar sample.
@MyLoFy Top production, top genre bandwidth and the punchiest drum loop in the LMC. And man, I had "round and round in the loop we go" spinning in my brain for quite some time.
@caprenter My favorite loop of the entire LMC is your Yoshimi sample --> it sets up to mood for an entire song in less than 2 seconds. Awesome!
@forestandgarden Such versatile loops. Great guitar and flute playing. My favorites: "guitar verb atmosphere" and "flute #2". I like the flute samples a lot and how good they are combinable.

So, I guess to conclude this LMC we need some comments from @forestandgarden!

Cheers and thanks again, great work everyone :D

Sorry for kinda abandoning this, but I've found out it's just not feasible to be fully active in this.

Since the pandemic I'm forced to do several jobs.
Currently some of my music work is back (for now at least) and the few free hours I have I'd rather spend on the many , many , many projects I still wanna do.
Added to this that the jobs I have are physically demanding so most of the time I'm frankly too pooped to do anything useful.

Sorry bout this.

No worries Rob - thanks for all the time you have put into this.

In other news, I'm not sure how much cross over there is on the forum, so I posted about the tracks and loops created here in the Original Scores & recordings forum:

I'm afraid that'll have to wait, since big amounts of data are a logistics challenge for me, and even uploading my own part, involved taking a bus to town and only coming back the next morning. BUT, tell me another bit: what's the secret mojo that is turning a nick in the post text into a proper mention?

Rob :big hug!

There wasn't any specified deadline for voting, but if we assume a sane default of one month past the end of the challenge, that gives us a voting deadline of November 30th. And since we're way past that generous deadline, I'll take the liberty of posting the chart with the results so that we can have some sort of closure!

Code: Select all

|---+-----------+--------+------|
| | Artist | Rating | Rank |
|---+-----------+--------+------|
| 1 | aloo_shu | 4.33 | 4 |
|---+-----------+--------+------|
| 2 | caprenter | 4.33 | 4 |
|---+-----------+--------+------|
| 3 | MyLoFy | 4.5 | 3 |
|---+-----------+--------+------|
| 4 | nyxeles | 5 | 2 |
|---+-----------+--------+------|
| 5 | sg75 | 5 | 1 |
|---+-----------+--------+------|
This is out of the votes from sg75, MyLoFy, and me. caprenter has abstained, and forestandgarden is past the deadline.

Now since y'all decided to vote 5 to everyone, I get top score together with sg75. Because math. But if we assume your "5's to everyone" is akin to not voting, then sg75 would be the rightful winner.
So I hereby (unofficially) crown @bsg75 with the victory for LMC13!

I'll leave it to @rghvdberg to make the results official if he's pleased with my conclusions!

@forestgarden
Great that you shared your awesome samples with us despite the extra effort and logistics required.
It really is very much appreciated! Again, I like the vibes a lot.

The mention mojo ( :D ) goes something like this: To mention someone put "mention" tags in square brackets around the username, e.g.

Code: Select all

[mention]forestandgarden[/mention]
There is also a auto complete function, which is triggered most of the time by typing "@" followed by the first letter of the username you want to mention.

@nyxeles
Thanks, too kind *blush* :)
Would be very touched and honored! :D

@@bsg75 thanks that's exactly what I needed to know, wasn't sure there were BBCode tags for it - most of the time, I'm coming from elinks, a text browser in the tradition of http://lynx.invisible-island.net/ , which works surprisingly well, saves data enormously, but won't give me interactive editors, just a html form. Actually a feature, do I want to load editors from the web for every form? :)
