One hacky way would be running the WinVST version inside Carla.

Here's my submission:
I went down the zrythm path :) and used the alpha13 version, which was stable enough for this.
My exclusive synth of choice was Calf Monosynth; I have never used it before and I think it's great!
Video: https://youtu.be/tj8TpFMz2x8
Download (ogg): https://soundcloud.com/mylofymusic/calfs-on-acid

I would share my session again, but session format is broken with the new release of zrythm (as expected).
Cheers!

Thanks for the tip but if If I can avoid such a solution I'd prefer that. And I can avoid it because I managed to compile a native Linux VST that works :muscle:

Here's my submission: LAM - Sagen 33

I started with Zrythm, but after some "little problems" I decided to go with Ardour.

This is my first track after 20 years of inactivity in the music production side, also the first track made on Linux and completely FOSS. :D

I did everything with Nekobi and I really enjoyed making a track with it, I learned a lot about how you can create many sounds with only a few knobs available and some creative use of FXs.

Speaking of FXs I used:
Calf Transient Designer
Tap AuotPanner
x42 Parametric EQ
GxPhaser
and many Airwindows plugins

I want to thank everybody in this community, @unfa and his discord/rocketchat folks, and a special thanks goes to @MyLoFy, @rghvdberg, @Sahaathyva and everyone who shared his knowledge and passion for music and Free Software.

in mix, nobody can hear your screen

This was a tough challenge! Monosynth challenge accepted, I've used only Calf MonoSynth (12 times) with lots of FX.
Thx to @MyLoFy for providing the "white noise" preset which I used for snare and hats :!:

The strange "talking robots" came out a screwed drum track using Bitta, Comb Filter and Calf Transient Designer.

Hi friends, awesome subs ! ! !

Here is mine , made with some tears using Zrythm 1.0 Alpha 14 , first track made with Zrythm , so much fun and so much joy to manage the project.
I honestly had not that much time, so i went to the sampler way for the drums (instead of synth them, so no Bonus for me  ! ) and added a pad made with Obxd, so we hear :

1*LSP multisampler with 909 samples
x*CALF Monosynth for all the synths you hear, except
1*O-BXD for the pad synth

This is the first time i made an acidified Techno and this was fun to do, despite some bugs in Z and a lack of time, i did not expect to be able to submit last days but i am kind of stubborn  ,

https://soundcloud.com/user-301824472/azid-1

If you prefer to watch Zrythm playing the project i made a video rip of that :

EDIT: ogg export corrected

I've managed to make a track, but I am unable to properly finish it, cause I don't feel well
So, WIP edition, maybe some time in the future there will be VIP-edit :D
here we go. Corny lyrics, questionable mixing, in all 90s glory

Please find my entry below

Done with

1. Calf Monosynth
2. Dragonfly Hall Reverb
3. Calf Vintage Delay

Techno isn't exactly my strength but it was a fun and educational challenge, hope you like it!

Hi everyone,

Spend a couple of evenings on making this track: https://archive.org/details/a.-in-a-monomania
Not sure if the style is close to what was intended, but I had fun making this.
It's also the first time I really got to play with a bunch of effects (as my previous track, my entry to LMC#6, needed to be without effects plugins).

I used:
* Ardour
* Calf Monosynth as only sound source
* Many different Calf effects plugins
* B.Jumblr

Downloadable file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EC5ybl ... sp=sharing

Made with Ardour, all sounds from Calf Monosynth (17 instances).
I'll update this post with more info about the track tomorrow after I get some sleep :)

It's 30 years ago already since Seven Stars by Quazar was released. This is my tribute, loosely inspired by the title track of that record. Only one plugin (Calf Monosynth) for all the sounds. If I had some more time I would have attempted to synthesize something that sounds like a crash, that's missing now a bit. And that typical ride sound from a 909. The track is done live, no automation.

Again it was a lot of fun to do, really maxed out the possibilities of my sequencer (Arturia Beatstep Pro) and those of Calf Monosynth. I even converted @briandc's presets to LV2, so if anyone is interested I'll upload them. Real capable plugin with a signature of its own. Other things I used:
  • GxDigital Delay. Quirky plugin, it buffers its output when you switch it off and spits that out again if you enable it again. You can hear that in the bridge.
  • Steve Harris' Giant Flanger
  • Calf Transient Designer
  • ACE EQ
  • LSP Mono Gate
  • X42 Parametric EQ
  • Some flanger/chorus for the snare
  • Freeverb for the hihats
  • Steve Harris' aliasing plugin
  • Airwindows Bassamp
  • Ardour Lua white noise
  • Ardour 6
  • Behringer BCR-2000 for twisting those cutoff knobs
Didn't get around properly mastering the track. I also wanted to try MelMatch on the mix but alas, no time for that either. The truth is I got too consumed by trying to fathom the original Seven Stars track. It sounds simple but it's a rather tricky track, especially given the era when it was made.

So here it is, hope you can rave a bit on it.

My Entry: Libre Thump

Stream: https://soundcloud.com/no9nein9/libre-thump

Download Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11_PlKs ... sp=sharing

I used for this

Geonkick for the bass drum
Vital for a clap type sound, which I made.
Tambourine Sample
Calf Monosynth for the Bass and Lead.

I used Agordejo, Patroneo, Non-Mixer and Non-Timeline to set it out. FX, Calf Reverb, Dragonfly Reverb, Non-Mixer's in built specialiser, Tal-Reverb, BassUp, InvadaTubeDistortion and LSP EQ

I did all the Synth and the actual tune tonight at the last minute because I am an idiot and I need to finish this post as I am about to run out of time
