I'm afraid the designer doesn't have the slightest clue on stereophonic recording. The way the capsules are pointed, you have an a/b with swapped channels.

Worst stereo recording arrangement I've ever seen. :shock:
Please, don't copy it and learn how to do it properly instead.
You don't need anything special except a pair of identical (matched, ideally) mics (well, except for M/S).
The net is full of good (and bad, apparently) tutorials. Look for articles that contain at least these acronyms: XY, AB, ORTF, M/S.
