Hi! I just found this:

And it made me wonder (as an electronic music producer who don't want to be a part of the loudness war):

What tools do you use to measure dynamic range of audio signal under GNU/Linux?

I find ebumeter http://kokkinizita.linuxaudio.org/linux ... index.html
to be very useful.
You'll need to download and compile the clthreads and clxclient libraries first.
If you're running Debian /Testing there are packages available.

A short technical paper by the developer: http://lac.linuxaudio.org/2011/papers/26.pdf

A video presentation of the same: http://lac.linuxaudio.org/2011/video.php?id=18

Ears, there is nothing that comes even close to them. They're cross platform too :D
