ORCHESTOOL on AVLinux
Hi,
I've build the Orchestool romplers set (https://musictop69.wixsite.com/orchesto ... stools-two) https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vc98gxgw0ahs ... ThnOa?dl=0 but users said it doesn't load in AVLinux. I haven't idea - why. Could anyone test it?

Re: ORCHESTOOL on AVLinux
I can't get them to work either. The OT piano, which is a linux vst2 plugin, works fine. (and sounds pretty decent)
AVLinux here too.

Re: ORCHESTOOL on AVLinux
Do they work on a regular Debian Bullseye system with either XFCE or another DE? Just want to rule out if this is a Debian thing an MX/AVL or a DE/WM thing.? Are there any meaningful logs or console errors being shown?Kott wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 2:02 pm Hi,

Re: ORCHESTOOL on AVLinux
The pianos do, because they have dedicated linux VST2 plugins.
The orchestral sets don't, and although someone has tried to provide a VST3 linux plugin version (through, i suspect, some sort of converter like yabridge), I, and I speak only only for myself, have not been able to get them working.
Here's the alleged linux vst3 versions.

I'm not sure this is AVL, or MX, or Debian related, so it's a bit like chasing fog at the moment. I've tried all sorts of permutations, but still no luck.
Edit: I have a wider problem with a wine stack overflow error. More digging to do.

Re: ORCHESTOOL on AVLinux
That someone is me. And it's not yabridge (weird idea), it was build with HISE in the openSUSE 15.3 https://build.opensuse.org/package/show ... audio/HISE https://build.opensuse.org/package/show ... TOOLS-PERC https://build.opensuse.org/package/show ... LS-STRINGS etc...alex stone wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 6:26 pm The orchestral sets don't, and although someone has tried to provide a VST3 linux plugin version (through, i suspect, some sort of converter like yabridge), I, and I speak only only for myself, have not been able to get them working.
It works on AV Linux MX-21.1, I just checked in Reaper and Ardour.

Re: ORCHESTOOL on AVLinux
Why do you need these? It's just a repackaging of Vermillion studios orchestra set, which is already freely available in sfz format. There are a number of Linux options for playing sfz format. That would be easier to work with than VST3.

Then Kott, as I wrote, it's on me that it doesn't work here.Kott wrote: ↑Sat Jun 25, 2022 12:14 amThat someone is me. Do i need to install any hise bits, or vst3 sdk to get this working?
And can i ask, which version of wine are you using?
Alex.

Re: ORCHESTOOL on AVLinux
There was a problem with plugins IDs. New binaries re-uploaded. If You're going to try - You have to clean up the cache and re-scan plugins.

Ok, i'll try today.Kott wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 12:20 pmThere was a problem with plugins IDs. New binaries re-uploaded. If You're going to try - You have to clean up the cache and re-scan plugins.
EDIT: [reaper] All 4 orchestral sections load ok, and i'm able to add the instrument libs for each. I've added a bit of midi, and the playback works.
I'll keep testing, and add a more instances to see how much I can load before it all crashes down.
I'll also test in Qtractor and Muse if they'll handle vst3.
Alex.
