I have Ubuntu Studio 18.04 installed on my studio computer, and I would like to install Carla on it to try and run a Windows VST.
I have Ubuntu Studio 20.04 installed on my television computer, which I use for watching youtube videos, music etc, and I notice that 20.04 comes with Carla pre-installed. I tried to install it on my 18.04 machine, but it doesn't seem to be in the repositories for some reason and when I try to install the KX studio reposotires, I am unable to download the repository file for some reason https://launchpad.net/~kxstudio-debian/ ... .3_all.deb
I downloaded the standalone Carla executable but I can't work out how to get the Windows bridge working on it.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I am wanting to get the Digits VST going and the Linux version has no GUI so it isn't so convenient to use.
I love Casio synthesisers, but the CZ ones are too expensive for my budget.
Cheers,
Sam

Re: How to install Carla on Ubuntu Studio 18.04
Hi,
- Beside Carla you have to install carla-bridge-win32 (if you use 32 bit vst, i don't personally because of all the mess with packages with enabling another architecture, i had very bad experiences in the past) and carla-bridge-win64 also.
- Then you have to enable experimental features in the Carla settings.
- Make sure the vst is in one of the paths that Carla scan for plugins (like .vst).
- Rescan. (Don't forget to enable scanning of windows bridged plugins)
in mix, nobody can hear your screen

I can't download the package, for some reason I can't connect to https://launchpadlibrarian.net/
Are you able to access it?

The .deb file (the link you posted, which is the same as found at https://kx.studio/Repositories) downloads fine for me using my browser, then opening and installing it with gdebi or whatever.
