[SOLVED]Update Mgr Kernel 5.4.0-42 borked system Ubuntu Studio 20.04 FF

Post by wardlok »

Hello! Update Manager was loaded today with a lot of updates. Went ahead and installed them all. Looks like machine is in some sort of "Rendering Mode",or something right now. Image on screen is not what it is supposed to be on the laptop and external vid monitor not working at all.
INXI report shows something may be wrong in the "Graphics" in regards to drivers.
2 new "errors" are displayed in the output at end of INXI report that weren't there before.
Undecided,at this point, whether to return system to previous state or try to fix with any input I can get from members of this forum which would be much appreciated.

Ok! Good news! Much better now. Installed new updates today and only a couple of issues remain. I haven't had this machine on all of last
week. My time is limited and only so much is allocated to this hobby of mine. I'm sure this will work out. It always does and much appreciation to the team here who dedicate so much of their time and effort maintaining Ubuntu Studio.
Last 2 errors listed in INXI report are still present. All the other errors listed is normal. Debating whether to execute sudo apt upgrade since sudo apt autoremove indicates "1 not upgraded". I'll think about that for a bit.
My secondary vid monitor works, now. I predict "SOLVED" will appear soon. :D
