Audacity no nyquist -no silence finder-Ubuntu 18

What other apps and distros do you use to round out your studio?

Audacity no nyquist -no silence finder-Ubuntu 18

Post by vector »

HI all,
Im having some issues with audacity.
Ive purged and reinstalled 2.4.1 from the website.
the nyquist plugins are missing.
so I re downloaded and copied a few .ny files
eg. /home/mark/.audacity-data/Plug-Ins/Firex.ny
but it still wont find them.
I vaguely recall there was a nyquist folder in the /Analyze/folder. Cant find that anywhere now.
the Manage plugins menu has no nyquist files to enable or disable for that matter.

Specifically I was wanting to use the silence finder which im sure Ive used b4. but that was prior to the many updates etc.
So not sure when why it disappeared.

It's a bug in packaging. Go here, follow instructions - https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopi ... 24#p395483

cheers. After a bit of digging I found out the ppa is broke.
I removed audacity, unticked the ppa and installed audacity via Ubuntu software centre.
2.3.3 is now working fine and will suit my current needs until panda jim fixes his ppa.
