Image to audio and audio to image

What other apps and distros do you use to round out your studio?

Image to audio and audio to image

Post by Shupacabras »

Hi all

I accidentally discovered this today

https://ojack.github.io/PIXELSYNTH/

I'm interested in something like this: transforming an image into audio on a PC, sending it through a connection, and receiving it on another computer to convert it back to an image.
Does anyone have any knowledge of a similar project?

That's cool. One of my kids was just talking about wanting to "hear" a picture. I just emailed this to him.

You mean, like we used to with dial-up modems (and acoustic couplers before those)?
I'm slow, but I get there eventually.

Time is x axis, frequency is y axis, volume is the color.

Greetings,

Spectral audio has been a fascination of mine for years.

Here's a few others, not yet mentioned, that are cross-platform and available for Linux...

I have read about that in the past but never got around to trying it. I have thought that it would be a neat way to come up with some samples. But I just googled it again and came up with a few links where you can use Audacity to do databending. You can not only turn images to sound, but you can also databend your pictures/photos through Audacity as well.
