Something to help music transcription
So back in the days when I was using proprietary software, I used Celemony Melodyne with it's "Direct note access" feature which showed, roughly, what notes were playing. Is there something similar in a free software world?

It's in the KX Studio repo's but also available on the website.
Load an audio file and press M on the keyboard. This will add an melodic spectagram which will give you some insight in what's going on.
Handy feature : real-time time stretching to slow down or speed up audio.
With the vamp plugins you can add extra functionality. The QM plugins are my favorite for beat/bar/tempo detection.

CLAM has a tonal analysis thing that I've seen used for this sort of thing. I've never tried it myself.

Does it have an application or is it just a library?ssj71 wrote:CLAM has a tonal analysis thing that I've seen used for this sort of thing. I've never tried it myself.

I was hoping to make you do the research
There at least WAS an app called chordata (in screenshot). But its from 2010. I can't find a place to just download that, but you can try to install the library and see if it comes with. Anyway, just trying to help. Like I say, I haven't used it at all.
