Open-source music softwares in movies

Just saw the movie "Paranormal Activity" yesterday. The scene that got me interested (because in all honesty, I found the movie rather boring but that's my opinion) is when the guy checks the sound recorded in his bedroom at night: he's using Audacity

Yes yes yes, I just saw this movie last weekend. And I noticed this too! It was exciting to see. haha I noticed in the first scene where he had just recorded with the microphone and the blue wav files on the screen looked familiar and I was thinking, is that??? And it was! Wicked! Only issue, he was running it on XP.

I thought I was really sad (well, my girlfriend did) when I mentioned that while we were watching it.

I find myself doing this a lot when 'technology' comes on screen.

In the UK comedy, Coupling, there's a scene where two of them are playing on an xbox - you can't see the screen, but from the noise alone I knew they were playing Defender from the Williams Classics boxset!

Here in Germany there's a police series called "Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei".
In one episode thay needed to hack computer and guess what they've done,
they've just minimized the window of Avira AntiVir and said: "Ok, wir sind drin!", in english:
"Ok, we hacked in!".
Never seen such a cheap method faking a hack for the viewers!

As i said: "such a cheap method". They even didn't think about covering this.
To be sure, everyone, even those people who don't have a computer, but a tv know this
program (it's the most common antivirus suite) at least from adverts or narrations of people
that have a computer. So it's very pathetic to be this kind of cheeky...
