Using GTK+ with Broadway

Post by tramp »

After we've ported guitarix now to GTK3, I checked out today the gtk backend Broadway to run guitarix in a browser.

I start the broadwayd demon with the following command:

Code: Select all

broadwayd -a 127.0.0.1 -p 8000
then I open new tab in my terminal and run

Code: Select all

GDK_BACKEND=broadway  guitarix
then I open my browser and enter the address:
http://localhost:8000/

And, Yes, it works. :lol:
I've guitarix in my browser running, and anything work.
That you could do with any gtk3 based application.

So, I think let's try it on my IP address, and, the demon starts, the application starts, the site open on my phone, and funny, guitarix is there.
But that's it, as soon I tried to move a knob, it crashed. So therefore the web frontend from guitarix is the better choice.
However, having it running on localhost is fun already.
On the road again.

Very nice! This means Guitarix can easily be controlled by tablets!
