CONFIG_NO_HZ

Post by raboof »

http://irc.esben-stien.name/mediawiki/i ... ux_Systems claims setting CONFIG_NO_HZ is a good idea.

However, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/229499 suggests that even though it improves battery life, it reduces realtime performance.

Any experiences?

A thread on LAT suggests CONFIG_NO_HZ is not bad for realtime, and the 64studio kernel also has it enabled as oflinux-image-2.6.29-1-multimedia-686. I'm removing the check from realTimeConfigQuickScan.pl.
