I have a midi keyboard that I want to connect to an hardware synth.
The midi keyboard have active sensing not supported by the synth. I want to use Carla plugins like "remove active sensing" and others.
I don't know which configuration have the best low latency. I used before a midi bus on ardour with the plugin on the bus but It get a lot of latency.
I know there will be always latency but which is the best configuration?
How about the jack configuration: can it sustain frames/Period at 24 and Periods/buffer to 3?
p.s My soundcard has an internal processor 24/bit

Re: Hardware-Carla-Hardware,midi only
Why do you want to filter out Active Sense? If your synth doesn't ignore it, then your synth is broken.
Otherwise, active sense is non-intrusive. It's transmitted only when no other midi messages need to be transmitted. (It's just to let your synth know it's still connected during those long quiet intervals when no other midi messages are being sent).

ok nevermind the Active sensing
I want to try other midi plugins while I bridge my 2 hardwares.
Having 2 soundcards I want to set one of them to receive and transmit only midi messages. Is it better jack or alsa? what about the bit depth and other configurations?.
My synth transmit and receive 24 midi messages per second
