Hi all,
I sitll have not been able to get Cardinal up n running. It needs libc 23.1 (or...something?)
Looking into the forummessages, I found that installing that lib could potentially break your system...
So...how now?
I tried to compile it from source, but it needs an open gl component...
Some (any) info would be very very appreciated.
Thanks
melissa

Yes, you don't really want to be messing around with libc. Which version do you have? And/or which distro?

Best not mess around, these are after all my production rigs...
The verson is 2.28-10+deb10u1
it needs glibc 2.29, by the way...
Thanks

It seems you are using Debian buster (oldstable). Current stable, bullseye, uses 2.31-13+deb11u3.
in mix, nobody can hear your screen

Re: Cardinal needs Libc 23.1...or so
So that's debian 10? As a side note I would recommend updating to 11, it's been out nearly a year now so should be about as solid as it gets.
Do you mean the binary requires that version? I can't see any version requirements of Cardinal's page for building.
Simplest solution would probably be to build it yourself. The debian requirements are listed here so it should be fairly straightforward.

Yep, it wants that one. I tried to get a previous version of Cardinal to avoid messing with libc, but did'nt find it...yet.sysrqer wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 3:56 pm So that's debian 10? Eh, apt-get --dist-upgrade should (after a backup) do the trick I guess...
Thanks (both) BTW to inform me of the age of this Debian...
Upgrade planned in
