Hydrogen segfaulting : notification, merely....

Post by OccinticLady »

Hi all,
In combination with a sequencer (SEQ in my case) Hydrogen segfaults as you change drumkit in the middel of sequencing/playing.
I start Seq up, set up a pattern, route it through MIDI through with Hydrogen at the other (receiving) end.
I run the pattern and want to change drumkits to select a good one, after three or four changes, Hydrogen crashes with a segfault.
In case someone wants to go live, Hydrogen can crash.
Hydrogen 0.9.7...
Just wanted to give a heads-up.
I'm cool :)

There's already Hydrogen 1.0.x.
Perhaps it will fix the problem?
However, in my humble opinion Hydrogen already is developed into a train wreck.
I was staying for some years by 0.9.6 and then quit using it - each version beyond 0.9.6 came with new troubles.

Compiling the newest release failed for some unknown reasons - I'm not an expert of compiling programs.
Though, compiling Qtractor succeeds over and over again. So, I'm not completely inexperienced at compiling.

I'm using fluidsynth to use .sf2 sound files.
Lots of .sf2 sound files come with different drum kits.
There's also some drums only .sf2 sound files available on the web.
Though, I'm using my own sound samples via .sf2 sound file created from my huge Sonor Force 3007 drum kit.
