I don't want to use any pulse devices besides the Jack bridge. I found I can go to system settings, in Audio > Configure, any hardware that shows up ever, set it to Profile: Off. This leaves only the Jack bridge as the only pulse option.
How can I stop pulse from automatically turning on audio hardware when new hardware is detected? And why does it keep repeatedly detecting some internal audio as if it is new over and over?
If I ever care to use a different pulse device, I can manually turn it on.
Any suggestions?

I think it's the module module-udev-detect.sowolftune wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 9:34 pm I don't want to use any pulse devices besides the Jack bridge. Thanks, I wasn't sure how to turn that off. I tried making ~/.config/pulse/default.pa as a copy of /etc/pulse/default.pa and editing the .config version to turn off all the automatic stuff I don't want. I suppose I'll need to log out and back in to see if it works.

I haven't had any issues in a while. Maybe I've solved this!
