Shell out a few dollars and download it prebuilt from the official site.lykwydchykyn wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 1:47 pm Hey, now that I have that worked out, what's the best way to get Ardour6 on AVLinux? I tried doing a flatpak, but it can't connect to Jack. Should I just compile it?

Fair enough. I'm not settled on this current install yet, but it would be nice to have an official version.

Changing CPU governor to "performance" was the solution for me.
Code: Select all
echo -n performance | sudo tee /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_governor
in mix, nobody can hear your screen

Re: Help me get back to a functional DAW (Xruns Galore)
I have been running linux and Ardour since long time ago and x-runs and tweaking has been an ongoing battle. I am using both FireWire and USB and tried all kinds of computers and newer laptops seems to be a lot harder to successfully run with low latency. Running Ardour with just alsa seems to work better than with Jack if no interconnect outside Ardour is necessary.
A weird power brick was new to me and I will try that with my current misbehaving laptop.
There should exist a database of things to try to minimize x-runs and also a way to report what was the culprit.
