Cannot use built-in webcam with external audio interface

Hello. I have an external audio interface, the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. It works like a charm.

However, when in Cadence I select to use that interface (for audio input) instead of the built-in microphone, the built-in webcam stops working. It's as if the webcam can work only if the computer's microphone is used as audio interface - either both or none.

Anyone in the same situation? What could the problem possibly be? Thanks.

Actually, it works like a charm if I enable USB3 from the BIOS setup.

With today's drivers it's safe to use USB3...right?
