Updated to 4.4.0-109-generic looking for low-latency kernel

Hi Everyone,

Because of all the meltdown spectre info I updated to the 4.4.0-109-generic kernel. I have amd cpu so
do not know if it was crucial to do so. I always used low-latency and have not found a low-latency
in this kernel version. Will there be one? I use linuxmint 17.3 with the kxstudio repos. I use cadence
with my firewire setup and record from my yamaha keyboard occasionally. Xruns were not a problem with my previous low-latency 4.2 something kernel. Cadence is showing 2 xruns with new kernel and I have done no audio work today. Think I need a low-latency kernel.

Any suggestions or advice are welcome and will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello Everyone,

I found the 4.4.0-109-low-latency kernel. Installed it and so far so good. Found it by doing the apt cache search option
in a terminal. It installed fine and now I am checking it out. So far, so good. Marking this as solved.

Thanks,

That's good to hear, have you done a performance check to see if there is any impact in terms of latency or xruns?

Hi,

I have not run any tests yet. Will do so when I can. Maybe time will permit later today. Do
you have any suggestions of what and how to test? Thanks.
