Low output signal with terratec phase 26 usb 6 outputs

Post by didgewind »

Hi. I am using a Terratec Phase 26 Usb to play live gigs with my laptop. I am using 6 outputs configuration, so I can monitor two channels and use the other four as individual instruments.

My problem is, in every gig I have played my sound technician complained about the low signal received in the mixer from the soundcard. I have also noticed that, if I configure my sound card with just 2 outputs, the output signal level increases quite a lot.

I have tried to connect an ac adapter to the soundcard in case it is a problem with the usb energy levels, but the output levels seem the same.

Is it a problem with my configuration or there is nothing I can do?

any help?

thanks

You can get a clean power amp to boost the output signal, lots of guitarists using plugins rather than tubes
will do this. You can keep lower noise floors by not maxing out the signals.
You can use preamp and mastering plugins to improve the signal, so you get
the best quality and least noise for the external booster amp. Harrison Mixbus
might be another option, it's on sale for $79, and people love the sound and easy controls.
