Audacity/Guitarix Recording in MONO

Post by omicronkappa278 »

I have Guitarix running jack and am trying to record my guitar in Audacity.

I have Jack as the source and it records my guitar, but it only records in one channel:

Once I change to recording mono, it records at a mouch lower volume and I cannot hear it. It is still showing that it records with off balance levels:

What to do?

Looks like you're bypassing guitarix completely and recording from "system" instead. You should tell Audacity that it should record from "gx_head_fx". I think you can do that directly from the toolbar dropdown, or in Edit -> Preferences -> Devices.

Here is a good introduction: http://www.libremusicproduction.com/art ... d-guitarix

You can record using timemachine, 24bit .w64 files, or .wav, then use audacity to edit and export in other formats.
Simple, and high quality.

You can also record directly in guitarix, as it provide recording plugs.
On the road again.
