I have Guitarix running jack and am trying to record my guitar in Audacity.
I have Jack as the source and it records my guitar, but it only records in one channel:
Once I change to recording mono, it records at a mouch lower volume and I cannot hear it. It is still showing that it records with off balance levels:
What to do?

Looks like you're bypassing guitarix completely and recording from "system" instead. You should tell Audacity that it should record from "gx_head_fx". I think you can do that directly from the toolbar dropdown, or in Edit -> Preferences -> Devices.

You can record using timemachine, 24bit .w64 files, or .wav, then use audacity to edit and export in other formats.
Simple, and high quality.
