Low-jitter kernel.

Post by Paradox Uncreated »

Heya. Thought I´d make a post here aswell, as a lot of musicians are doing similar tuning.

I did a low-jitter kernel for ubuntu, a while back. I think I have collected most the data, to make a really optimized kernel.

Low-latency, for musicians ofcourse, and low-jitter for openGL, and generally a responsive system.

Check it out here.

Peace Be With You.

how does this make a difference in audio editing?

More importantly, care to show some implementation examples??

Responsive app, low latency. What kind of examples are you looking for?'

PS: I am in the process of moving servers, and will have the article up soon, on the new.

For audio editing, I'd say it doesn't matter much - might just make it a little more pleasant to work with.

For anything real-time/live, this kinds of optimizations can make a real difference.
