(probably the first post being before the forum inception is due to a timezone difference?)

phpBB3 was released in 2007 to replace phpBB2, probably posts were lost in an update.

Hmm, missed this announcement some how.
Anyway, an interesting coincidence is that it seems the forum started up about the same time as Paul Nasca published Zyn 2.2.1
The 'landscape' has changed quite a bit since then
