A new DAW is about to drop. A group of ex-Ableton Live employees have splintered off to make their own company. Bitwig studio is their new baby. The good news? It's multiplatform, including support for Linux. I'm not affiliated with them or anything, just thought this to be newsworthy. It may not be free or opensource software, but it looks promising to me. Not to mention if it's successful it might bring more developers of both software and hardware around to the Linux audio world. They're about to start beta testing if you're interested. You can sign up on their website.

Re: Bitwig Studio - Have you guys seen this?
An unofficial Bitwig forum has already been launched if anyone's interested. I saw it posted on their facebook. I spoke with the admin, and if we get enough Linux users over there he'll implement a dedicated Linux section on the board. So if you want to contribute just head over to http://www.bitwigbeats.com and represent the Linux community. Again I'm not affiliated with the project, just trying to help get the word out. If succesful, this project could be huge for Linux audio.
