Compiled it and tried it with abGate, Qtractor crashed when I tried to open the abGate GUI :(
funnier is that it works painlessly on a 32bit system i've tested so far but crashes on sight in a 64bit one :(

Awesome! Just compiled it and it loads fine in Qtractor 0.4.8.12. I can even close the abGate GUI without crashing Qtractor. I can only open and close it once though, if I open the GUI a second time Qtractor crashes.
I'm about to upload it to my PPA, thanks for mentioning it in the README!

Best,

Jeremy

I wish I had more time to look at Qtractor. One guy from TangoStudio wrote me that there is some kind of buzz using bypass switch in Qtractor. I'd like to try this external UI extension also, but again I'm too busy. My computer is still getting kernel panic when trying to use ethernet. And now I'm going to write an application for this non-commercial radio station I'm volunteering in so maybe you could write a bug report at sourceforge about this Qtractor crash with abGate so I could look at it later. I saw there is a bug report feature at sourceforge, but i haven't looked at it much. And if someone is interested, here is the link for the radio station: http://www.startfm.lt/?page_id=273 We use Linux there :)

Packages for Lucid, Maverick and Natty available in the brand new KX Studio Team PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~kxstudio-team/+archive/ppa

And I'll file a bugreport.

Best,

Hi guys, there is a new version of abGate with Qt4 GUI. Sorry for this mess with filenames and documentation for compiling. I just wanted to try if it works. There are a lot of things left to clean up. If someone could help to make a nice Makefile it would be cool. Please file a bug report at sourceforge. I'm very busy with my studies and I guess this plugin is not very useful for you anyway so I can't pay much time for it. The presets feature is not inplemented in Qt4 version, because I want to rewrite this Presets feature from the ground up. http://abgate.sourceforge.net

Hi eikakot

Well, we found abGate indeed useful. :) and we have included it, for a user request, into guitarix.
abGate is beautiful at high gain inputs and heavy metal sounds.
It's a nice peace of dsp software you have wrote, thanks therefore.

I see. Thanks for pointing those things.
The reason was that I just wanted to try this lv2 Qt4UI thing. They released LV2 1.0 just few days after I looked at it :)

In Ardour3 the GUI is messed up a bit (text not readble, bitmaps doubeled...) but the plugin itselfs works very good -- just tried it for about a few minutes on a high-gain guitar track with flanger and reverb and I am pleased: noise is ducked as expected and I can set the plugin to allow reverb-tails to be dimmed smoothly :-)

good thing, thanks a lot! :D :D
