new site : wikilily.org

Post by mike_blackstock »

I've started a new site for the development of lilypond scores, accessible
for now at http://draft.wikilily.org

Have a look, create an account and post whatever you want - there's
no restrictions (well, aside from copyright concerns of course).

Cheers,
Mike

Pretty cool. I didn't know that MediaWiki had a lilypond plugin.

Yeah, there are zillions of MedaWiki extensions which I'm going through gradually in the hope of having a complete development environment within a wiki. The 'Forums' extension is particularly useful.

Great: bookmarked...

edit: would be cool if we could learn some pop/rock/jazz related music notation with lilypond from you... :)

Wouldn't it be cool if your site will be (more) connected to this site? Both projects can support eachother I think. Wasn't that your plan?

edit: linuxmusicians.com/wikilily or

lilymusicians.com with a link on this forum?

Cause we closed our office with virtually no warning!! I suspect a financial disaster somehow related to what's going in the markets.

Anyway, I'm working at getting it back - I got a Virtual Personal Server account on a massive Sun system - 8 core processors, 10 gigs ram, 1 terabyte disk space. Great service - backups are done automatically, there's a redundant backbone connection for nearly 100% uptime and you can do anything as root - about the only thing one can't do is play around with the kernel. it's just $50 a month.

Anyway, I'll post again soon - I don't have net access at home and I'm using public libraries and net cafes for now.

Cheers,
Mike

Hey Mike,

Glad you're back! :)

Hope things will turn fine when it comes to financial stuff...

I would like to have your website back and I'm looking forward to having some kind of 'working together' between your website and this community ;)
