I have started a new project called Composite, which is planned to be a
sequencer for live-performance sequencing, sampling, and looping. One might
say that it will be like Ableton Live. It will be an LV2 host for synths and
effects, and will have a built-in sampler (which will probably be an LV2
plugin).
At this time, the project is in the planning stages.[1] Anyone who is
interested is invited to join the mailing list and share your thoughts and
opinions -- especially as it relates to UI and workflow.[2]

Composite (Ableton Live on Linux?)
Re: Composite (Ableton Live on Linux?)
This is really interesting... Ableton Live is my favorite sequencer would be interesting to have something better.
Develop some built in LV2 instruments like in Ableton Live and then you can even make money with it by selling preset sets interesting, eh?
Edit: Eh, I just saw the documentation and I thought to myself this is not worth it, it would be yet another zynaddsubfx or something of the sort.
What I mean is, ableton live is easy to use, it has a modern gui that's good to look at, and it's not just for recording loops like you think.
I'm kinda getting tired of silly developers who think that they have a good idea, but have such low standards for application design.

Uh, it seems a bit silly to judge this project by the design, when there are only some rough sketch-ups and they're actively looking for people to help with "thoughts and opinions -- especially as it relates to UI and workflow"...XVampireX wrote:I'm kinda getting tired of silly developers who think that they have a good idea, but have such low standards for application design.

go get yourself a good pint of Trueblood, go to bed at 4am and get up no earlier than 1hour after sunset. It should take care of the tirednessXVampireX wrote: ... I'm kinda getting tired of silly developers ...

I'm kinda getting tired of people who are jump right onto an forum board and think they can give stupid and respect-less criticism without any good argumentation and without even introducing himself.XVampireX wrote:

Internet is the right platform for such people, BUT not this forum.
Thank you Sir

1) Be kind, courteous, and respectful in your posts. No trolling, flaming, or personal attacks...even during heated discussion. One cool thing about forums it that they're not completely real time. If you're mad, chill out a bit, then post. Keep in mind we are newbie a friendly community! Gently steer newbies the right direction, and leave discipline for repeat offenses to the moderators and admin. Absolutely no "RTFM" posts, although politely pointing the user to the relevant documentation is of course highly appreciated.

Yeah, hey, let's all be kind to one another and try and get along. We all have our own opinions on software and is most likely the reason we are here. But let's not over-react to posts that are made. We're all friends!
