Re: AV Linux 3.0 Released
Hi.
Probably good, but i didn't find any tools to change the keyboard configuration. Very US-centered, isn't it?
With the 2.0, i managed to do it editing the xorg.conf. It didn't work with the 3.0, trying to install and reconfigure keyboard-configuration didn't work as well. I guess that there should be a solution and that's there is enough space on the DVD to include something for this if necessary.

Re: AV Linux 3.0 Released
juki,
AV Linux is English only at the present time partly because the remastersys tools used to build it are English only, and BTW it's Canada centered not US
Now on to your keyboard issue, AV Linux 3.0 uses Xorg 7.4 which uses Hal .fdi files instead of xorg.conf, here is a post at the AV Linux forum with some instructions for changing the keyboard.

Thanx for your help, i found also other informations about how to do it on some Debian forums. I'll try this next week, and if i manage to install it properly, i'll make a tutorial in french to explain it to newbies. Bye.

juki,
If everything goes well and you do have time to do a French tutorial that would be great, post back here and let me know and I'll link it from the AV Linux forum to help others.
Thanks GMaq

Re: AV Linux 3.0 Released
Hi.
So the tutorial is here : http://linuxmao.org/tikiwiki/tiki-index ... aved_msg=y
It was not so much a problem to turn the system in french actually. after setting the keyboard in french with setxkbmap fr ina terminal, i had to edit the file /etc/default/keyboard and to make a dpkg-reconfigure console-data. So it was done for the keyboard, just had to reconfigure the package locales and to install iceweasel-l10n-fr. Later i had to choose french in gdm. That's it.
The biggest problem that i had is that it seems that Remastersys format all the partitions that are choosen, so i had to put the /home with the root partition and to move it later on my choosen /home partition.
Anyway i'd have to do it cause the partition i wanted for the /home is in ext4. And your kernels don't recognize it. So i had to install a RT kernel from these repositories : http://www.pengutronix.de/software/linu ... an_en.html
I installed rtirq as well, i don't know why i expected it will be done, but it was not.
So now i can try how it works, thanx for your work!
