[ANN] Vee One Suite 0.9.22 - A Spring'21 Release batch #2

Post by rncbc »

Hello again!

The Vee One Suite of old-school software instruments,
  • synthv1, as a polyphonic subtractive synthesizer;
    samplv1, a polyphonic sampler synthesizer;
    drumkv1 as yet another drum-kit sampler;
    padthv1 as a polyphonic additive synthesizer.
Are all here and now for the second batch to the so called QStuff* (northern) Spring'21 release season.

Rejoice.

All delivered in dual form::
- a pure stand-alone JACK client with JACK-session, NSM (Non Session Management) and both JACK MIDI and ALSA MIDI input support;
- a LV2 instrument plug-in.

Changes for this season are rather janitorial:
- All packaging builds switching to CMake.

The Vee One Suite are free, open-source Linux Audio software, distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2 or later.

And here they go again...

Here are three albums where I use drumkv1 exclusively for the drums, that you can download freely:

https://oscillator.se/musik#dreamsofseagulls - album Listen to the silence
https://oscillator.se/musik#dreamplane - album Patterns
https://oscillator.se/musik#darkplasma - album Virtual Playground

Hello rncbc and thanks!

I co-maintain the GeekosDAW repo on OBS and we have a little bit of trouble integrating your packages with ours (due to the qt*6-static dependencies). We haven't had the time to sort that out yet as we are still working on making all our packages compile on GCC11; if you have suggestions which would allows us to branch your programs without any issues, we would gladly welcome them. We sadly can't just add the qt*6-static packages to our repo because it creates a conflict for all Qt-based packages.

what conflicts? for a reason the package names have the "-static" suffix; it shouldn't make any conflicts whatsoever; also, they are only needed for build, not for general deployment.

I think anyway that's all a matter of tweaking the *v1.spec files in your case...

Well, basically if I branch the qt*6-static packages into GeekosDAW the other Qt packages don't know how to resolve Qt dependencies anymore, if they should use the regular Qt packages or yours.

But I will look into it soon, perhaps as you see it's just a matter of tweaking the .spec :D
