Nice. I'm glad to see the Lv2 support becoming more common :)

This is outstanding news. There's more discussion here: https://forums.cockos.com/showthread.php?p=2295252 and https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=248408

Some users suggest Guitarix and other plugins crash Reaper. I'm unable to find/load any LV2 plugins.

Edit: I mistakenly thought the latest stable version has LV2 support. You'll need to download the pre-release "reaper621+dev0123" from here: https://www.landoleet.org/. I'm now able to see and load LV2 plugins, however Guitarix segfaults Reaper on my x86-64 machine.

Reaper runs on the Pinebook Pro, so I hope to eventually use Reaper and DrumGizmo on Arm.

LV2 support is just added to the developers branch (odd minor version numbers). It's labelled as "experimental". Reaper seems to use a fully new environment for LV2 plugins. Not based on lilv. First tests produced a lot of problems. Especially segfaults. But keep in mind it's "experimental". But it seems like there is still a lot of work to do.

When coding is done 'after working hours have ended', that doesn't mean
unpaid coding is free. Someone always pays a price when a hobby, or attempts to gain
valuable skills/experience/continuing-education leads to someone missing personal interaction.
Could be kids, spouses, parents, siblings, valuable friends, strangers in need...
and of course the coders themselves.

We can often download software, audio and video files, but the other 'after-hours' creations,
being physical, are rarely expected to be free. Software never is free, the ideas, the creations,
and the distributions all have a price.
Cheers

The term "free", did not only mean "free as in beer", when we talk about software.
It may also mean "open source", which I guess was referenced for here.
Even, "Open Source" didn't mean necessary "free as in beer", but often, that is the case.
On the road again.

This is VERY true and an angle that is often not even considered by end-users thank you VERY much for bringing that point to light!

Now back to the LV2 in Reaper discussion!

downvote.
As mentioned above, free, didn't mean the price tag here, it means the available of the source code.
Bringing it on the level of "a price" is ridiculous. Please do that elsewhere.

This really harms the niceness that Reaper now have LV2 support, which is the topic of this thread.
On the road again.

Correct, I would gladly pay for Reaper if it was free software (I already have a paid license for version 4/5 but I no longer use it).

I guess many of us wondering will be there the non-X11 UI supported, eg GTK or FLTK.
Ardour dropped such feature, and Element too.
