Then it would be a interesting business model. Releasing a open source synth and still be able to buy some bread. :)
Yes, I think it's a good model too. Although IMHO wavetables shouldn't be copyrightable when they are the result of mathematical functions (not sure if it's Vital's case and anyway, I wish Matt Tytel the best, he's done a lot already for libre software :D)

Congrats!! It's a really nice product, very intuitive workflow and simple midi assignments! I'll use it a lot, I think!

Both .deb and .zip are "Ubuntu-only" due libcurl-gnutls.so.4 dependency.

Works more or less fine besides a couple of crashes on Arch with pipewire(testing it for the fun of it, it's quite promising imo, but still a ways of overtaking jack)

I do get the dependency error but the program runs fine.

Gives me the same as mentioned above: "/usr/lib/libcurl-gnutls.so.4: no version information available "

Still runs though, got the presets, made my own presets, played around with it in LMMS.

Had some issues with the LV2 though. UI is messed up after opening and closing and then opening the plugin again, goes for both Carla and Ardour.

Some of the other crashes I have I am pretty sure is pipewire related tho ;)

This synthesizer has some interesting sounds.
Though, in the end it sucks! πŸ‘Ž

Each time after closing e.g. Qtractor I need to be online and repeatedly to sign in when choosing to use Vital.
No matter if stand alone or plugin is used.

Why in the hell should I be online when using a synthesizer / composing a song?
Is he trying to steal my ideas / compositions?

So, this synthesizer is nothing to use for me at all! πŸ‘Ž πŸ‘Ž πŸ‘Ž

It's different error. I meant the absence of libcurl-gnutls.so.4 at all in non-Ubuntu distros. Apparently Arch got https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/libc ... nimal-git/ couple days ago, so it works for you.

aha, nevermind me then :)

I noticed I had it, but in lib64 instead, which is why the "error" still appears I think.

Installed the deb package on Debian Sid and I've no errors, except for TTWT not working (connection error).
The fact you have to be logged to use Vital bothers me as well.

in mix, nobody can hear your screen

Where to download that presets bundle?
I downloaded the .deb package and at first use it downloaded the contents.

Edit:

I now downloaded the .zip package. No difference. Still need to sign in online.

I downloaded the .deb package and at first use it downloaded the contents.
after login it downloads to /tmp/Factory Content.zip
then unzip int ~/.local/share/vital

also there is config in ~/.vital with "authenticated" string, but changing false to true does nothing :)

It requires login only at first run, but you should have the proper system libraries.
@TAERSH what is your distro?
