Right. I'm not confusing 32-bit hardware with 32-bit software. Reading back from my first post, I do mean software, as in 32-bit VST plugins. I'm not sure if the Fedora and OpenSUSE team will follow suit, either, let alone Debian.

Never rely on software you can't compile on your machine

I'm pretty sure that Steam are fully aware of the situatuon, and probably the bulk of their concern is that Ubuntu promise to freeze 32bit libs for 19.x but once you get into the 20.x releases all bets are going to be off. Ubuntu are not going to want to backport security issues to the 32bit libs in 3 years time. And Steam are very much going to be still selling games that require them. Red Hat have just released RHEL8 with 32bit lib support and will be back porting fixes for the next 10 years. Fedora will keep the 32bit lib support as a function of that. There are a lot of 32bit legacy apps in the enterprise.

They have changed their plan after the reaction from the community.

Typically Canonical/Ubuntu: reminds me of their own "great" desktop environment: Unity. People left Ubuntu to use Mint because of that. To stop supporting something that people lave never pays off.

It's good to hear. I'd be surprised if that's long enough for Valve though. Musicians will be ok with an LTS distro but gamers won't.
