[ANN] Qtractor 0.9.4 - The Winter'19 Release

Postby rncbc » Thu Feb 07, 2019 5:05 pm

Dear all,

Qtractor 0.9.4 (winter'19 beta) is released!

Changes for this season are as follows:
- Drag-moving and copy-pasting existing clips, while over the main track-view, now shows the respective (audio wave-shapes and MIDI piano-rolls) graphical representations, as much as possible.
- For good and bad, session name changes now trickle down to respective audio/MIDI file names as well.
- Audio output monitoring meters may now be shown on MIDI tracks and buses as a default user preference option (View/ Options.../Plugins/Instruments/Show audio output monitoring meters) and also in plugin list context sub-menu (Audio/Meters).
- Custom color (palette) themes can be exported to and imported from external files.
- LV2 plug-in UI GTK2 and X11 in Qt5 host native support are now enabled on configure by default.
- Fixed minimum input value as 10% (was 1%) for audio clip time-stretching in the Clip / Edit... dialog.

And don't forget the secret git-branch you told me about: Qtractor as a Linux kernel module for increased performance!

You're the best.

I like that feature, too.

Looks as if Rui had to make new screenshots.

nope. the screenshots are still the same as if those new options were never activated though.

take note that audio output meters are only meaningful for MIDI tracks (or buses) that have at least one MIDI instrument plugin inserted; on all other cases the monitoring and meters are a pure waste of cpu and graphic resources and adds nothing to "eye candy" but a couple of dead-black bars anyway.

@bluebell, you're of course welcome for your own and magnificent screenshots, most especially the ones with the multi-row mixer layout ;)

cheers

color taste to the side, you know that you can set the new MIDI tracks audio meters on their own discretion (and not set globally as you seem to have):
